The ¾-inch masking tape is a versatile, mid-width tape suited for painting, automotive work, crafts, or home improvement tasks. With a width of about 19 mm, it strikes a good balance: narrow enough for detail work, wide enough to cover edges quickly.

Depending on the type, the backing is made from crepe paper (or high-performance paper) and the adhesive is either natural rubber or formulated for automotive/refinishing use. This allows for strong adhesion even on uneven or curved surfaces, while still allowing the tape to be removed cleanly without leaving sticky residue or damaging paint.

Many rolls are long—usually ~55-60 yards (about 50-55 meters)—so you get a lot of tape per roll. Some versions (such as the 3M refinish models) are designed to maintain sharp paint lines, resist bleed-through, conform to curves, and be used in higher temperature environments. Ideal for painting trim, masking off windows, color changes in automotive settings, art & craft edges, and general surface protection.
